Dogville has officially arrived in NYC! Officially known as "The Waggiest Place on Earth," Dogville will be open in SoHo until June 2nd and is by far the highlight of the Puppy Season (which, if you didn't already know, is much shorter than a Human Season because it mainly consists of snoozling and treat snarfing).
Pop-up attractions are decidedly having a moment, and the latest attraction is a playground for pups (and the humans who love them.)

On May 10, Manhattan will get its first totally immersive, interactive and social-media worthy event for pups and the humans they love. Dogville unveils a 3,000 square foot flagship pop-up experience in New York’s SoHo neighborhood that features agility playground, Instagrammable photo opportunities, a pampered doggy day spa, and a treat bar featuring healthy food options. There’s even an oversized dog bed, filled with adoptable puppies, that you can climb into.
As famous NYC columnist Cindy Adams would say, “Only in New York, kids.” Dogville (thisisdogville.com) has assembled a roster of prominent partners, including Nest and Google Home, local pet advocacy organizations, and healthy dog food purveyors like Pet Plate and Wild Earth featured on CNBC’s Shark Tank.
The concept is simple.
Part of every ticket purchase goes toward supporting local rescue organizations. Once inside, canine and human guests get a playdate tailored to appeal to your dog’s senses within a safe and fun environment. The experience underscores the trend that 75 percent of Americans in their 30s own dogs, according to global market research firm Mintel. There’s even more statistics showing Millennials are half as likely to be married than they were 50 years ago — meaning America’s buying habits are being driven by a generation trying to give fur babies their “best life.” And, yes, #Dog has been used 160 million times on Instagram.
“Dogs are the antidote to modern anxiety,” says Dogville founder Matana LePlae. “They give us so much unconditional love and so we wanted to create Dogville as a place where dog lovers can learn, play and celebrate all aspects of dogs."
Dogville’s “Pup-Up” opens on May 10 through June 2. The immersive experience and playdate is aimed at what the NYC Economic Development Corp. says are 600,000 dogs living in the city. Here’s what’s waiting:
Dogs Gone Wild
Ever wonder what your pup does when you leave for work in the morning? Tear into trash, grab your underwear for a jaunt around the house? Nest, a manufacturer of smart home technology including indoor and outdoor cameras, has enjoyed a massive, social-media blitz with raw footage of dogs gone wild. Here’s your chance. The Google-powered company is partnering with Dogville to replicate your living room and let your faithful companion go nuts. There’s canine-friendly furniture made of soft foam blocks all over the joint. And you’ll get plenty of before and after pics and videos.
What’s better than laying in a bed of adorable little fur babies? Nothing. Literally nothing. Dogville is partnering with local shelters with adoption-ready dogs ready to lick your face, give plenty of cuddles, and playfully romp all over you. This is the ultimate pooch interactive experience (and guaranteed to put a big smile on your face and a wag in their tails)
PAWSitive Reinforcement Spa
Namaste. Think Enya and purified water that’s hinted with a gentle scent of beef. Introducing the Doggy Day Spa. Here’s where Dogville can help you relax your pup, with soothing music and trained staff on hand knowledgeable about those best spots to massage your dog. Learning these techniques is a great way to bond with your pet and how to relax your fur baby, making them feel comfortable, happy and loved.
Face it, the last 10 pictures on your smartphone is of your dog. We’re not judging. You’re not alone. The #Dog has been used 160 million times on Instagram. So, let’s kick it up a notch. Dogville will give you a chance to snap cute social-media buzzy photos to share with the world. Think Fido dominating Manhattan, going to battle with a giant tennis ball, and you in the ultimate dog sculpture garden. You’ll be trending in no time.
We know. You can’t say the word treat out loud. T-R-E-A-T? We spell it because the second we say the word our dogs go insane. Dogville has partnered with Pet Plate and Wild Earth, two of the nation’s most reputable dog food companies that specialize in healthy food options for our pets. Both have been featured on CNBC’s Shark Tank, with backing by billionaires like Mark Cuban. We can’t make a world for dogs without appeasing their taste buds, so belly up to the Yum Bar. We have a smart and healthy sampling that will please even the most discerning palate.
Dogville is a place for dog lovers. This interactive pop up experience is furnished with a series of exhibits and installations that offer lots of fun for both dogs and the people who love them. Dogville comes to Soho, NY on May 10 to June 2 and then moves to LA in the Fall. Tickets are $35 per person, dogs are free.
